Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what was the minimum period served in custody on average, in each of the last five years, for individuals sentenced to spend a minimum of 10 years in custody as part of (1) an extended determinate sentence, (2) an extended sentence of detention, and (3) a sentence for offenders of particular concern.
The Ministry of Justice holds data on the average period served in custody for offenders serving the following sentences - ‘Extended Sentence of Detention', 'Extended Determinate Sentence' or 'Sentence for Offenders of Particular Concern' - covering the period requested, and the data can be viewed in table 1 below:
