Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how many prison staff from which prisons were dismissed for conducting inappropriate relationships with prisoners in (a) 2010, (b) 2011, (c) 2012 and (d) 2013.
The definition of an inappropriate relationship is any relationship with prisoners, ex prisoners, partners, immediate family or close associates involved in criminal activities if not formally declared to the Governor or Head of NOMS unit as a potential ‘Conflict of Interest’. The information setting out how many prison staff were dismissed from each establishment solely for having an inappropriate relationship with a Prisoner(s)* is set out in the tables below:
